Here are the 'must do's' for starting and running a successful internet business.
It's about what people want/need/desire - not what you want to sell them. Listen carefully, seek to really understand what other people want and desire.
Find the market gap; what's the key thing missing in the market? This is where creative thinking comes in. Develop a new product/service or the development or a new twist on existing product or service. But match that market gap.
Always keep your eyes open and take measured risks - but do your homework first.
Become great about service. Concentrate on keeping your customers. A lot of businesses overlook this. Whatever the size of your business, you can use help desks and virtual assistants so you can have great customer service.
You MUST get started. STOP putting off what can be done today and get started NOW! Procrastination equals fear. Learn something small, then do it - keep practising, perfect can come later.

If you charge higher prices, you will create larger profits. Why charge the lowest prices? Sell on investment, not cost. Good profit margins will give you an advantage when developing new products, give you more scope in your marketing campaigns, and you'll have resources for meeting any problems head on. You will keep your customers if they grow, enjoy, improve or profit from the information, products and services you sell them. That's their return on their investment.

Look to build your business so you can sell it when it no longer interests or excites you.
And finally, find something that is worthwhile, fun and enjoyable to do with the money you earn.
